We’re proud to support CHOC Walk in the Park 2016 as a media partner.
October is now “CHOCTOBER” for the annual CHOC Walk in the Park 2016 fundraiser at the Disneyland Resort. This is the hospital’s largest fundraiser and all monies raised go directly to help Southern California families. In its 26 years it has raised 26 million dollars which has been used for neonatal services, heart centers and families in financial need. For my family, this last service holds a special part in my heart because when our first daughter was born we were in between insurance carriers. At one point, we had to take my daughter to the emergency room at CHOC. We didn’t have enough to cover the cost and their family financial program helped cover the cost. It was such a relief for us as new parents. Now through the CHOC Walk the Park fundraiser I get to help other families in similar situations.
Through CHOC Walk The Park, Disney loving families can get a special glimpse at Disney before hours. The three mile course takes you through Disney, California Adventure and Downtown Disney. Every step of the way “CHOC Walkers” will be greeted by beloved characters and entertainment. The walk will conclude at CHOC Walk Festival at Downtown Disney with great deals and discounts from sponsors. An added bonus for participants are discounted park hopper tickets or single park admission tickets which must be purchased on the day of the walk.
It is no surprise that this fundraiser is held at Disneyland since Walt himself helped fund CHOC fifty years ago. The Disney family and CHOC are united in helping all children’s needs. Disney is a great presence at CHOC even having Turtle Talk with Crush in patient lobby. This year, CHOC Walk the Park hopes to raise $2.6 million. These funds benefit KidsCare Fund which supports low income families, neonatal intensive care unit and mental health services.
