One of my favorite spots at Disneyland Park during Halloween Time is Zocalo Park. It’s set up to celebrate el Dia de los Muertos. Turns out, hey’ve been setting the scene up at El Rancho del Zocalo (in Frontierland) since 2007. The scenery includes three musicians that are approximately 7′ tall, and both female and male alters with ofrendas.
I LOVE the display, and I take the kids through it every year. We celebrate Day of the Dead at home, and this display really brings the celebration alive for them. It makes the celebration very “normal” for them.
This year, you can also find Dia de los Muertos treats consisting of apples, cake pops and crisps. They’re each colorfully decorated to resemble sugar skulls in honor of Dia de los Muertos.
If you’re visiting Disneyland during Halloween Time, make sure to stop by Frontierland to check out the traditional skeleton display as it is only there until the end of Disneyland’s Halloween Time celebration.
