I took my my three year old son, Nico, to experience Cars 3 at the legendary El Capitan Theatre. I could see his eyes light up as we approached the marquee that advertised Lightning McQueen in CARS 3. This was his first time seeing a movie at El Capitan Theatre so this was all very new and exciting to him. Seeing CARS 3 on the big screen made for a great mamá and son date night, and it even earned me some “best mom ever” points.
We entered the timeless theater and my boy ran inside with such joy. We picked up a kids combo popcorn pack (it includes a small drink, small popcorn and candy), and went upstairs to settle down to enjoy CARS 3, now playing in theaters everywhere.
At El Capitan Theatre, every seat is a great one, but we prefer to head to the balcony for that classic Hollywood theatre feeling. If you are taking your little ones, I suggest asking for a booster seat which easily and securely attaches to the seat for a better view for your kiddos.
Whenever you visit El Capitan Theatre, make sure to arrive early because there is so much to look at before the film begins. The displays rotate throughout the year, in accordance to the film that is currently playing. It’s yet another feature that makes this place special and worth arriving early to enjoy. Plus you can catch the 20-minute magical organ performance that occurs before the movie.
El Capitan Theatre is owned by Disney, and so they exclusively show Disney movies. This theatre is guaranteed to be a great family outing for the entire family!

About CARS 3
Lightning McQueen is back on the big screen, but he’s not a rookie anymore. Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Piston-Cup champion finds himself suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves.
A new breed of racers gives Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) stiff competition on the track. Now one of the oldest race cars, Lightning needs to prove that he is still a top racer with help from an eager young female car, Lightning teams up with strong, spirited trainer Cruz Ramirez in a quest to beat newer, faster next-gen racers.
Tasked with getting Lightning McQueen back on track after a devastating setback, Cruz isn’t shy and just like us, you will fall in love with her admirable, likable character.
I love how Pixar always has the meaningful life lessons and CARS 3 doesn’t fall short of that at all. Lightning McQueen teaches us that no matter how “old” we get we can always strive to be our best and to never give up.
