I discovered the most delicious Parisian spot in Buena Park, Paris Baguette, their flagship store on the west coast. I went in one weekday morning and I was happily greeted by samples upon samples of their famous pastries and sweet treats, ensuring that the ones I ended up purchasing were going to be devoured immediately.
Paris Baguette, a fast casual bakery-café concept founded in 1988 specializing in French-inspired goods with proprietary dough that is lighter, and less sweet than traditional dough to create a variety of decadent, unique and sophisticated desserts. In addition to chef inspired sandwiches and signature coffee, Paris Baguette offers a unique Parisian experience to every customer through a combination of self-serve stations and counter-order in all locations. Today, Paris Baguette has more than 2,700 locations worldwide including 52 in the US.
On this particular occasion, I was invited by the folks from the shop to try out their famous Berry Bunch offerings, just in time for Mother’s Day. Now through May 14th, Paris Baguette will offer themed cakes specifically for the holiday:
- Love Mom Berry Much Cake ($36)
- Happy Mother’s Day Cake ($36)
Both cakes are available for pickup beginning May 12th.
I tried both of these cakes and they were absolutely scrumptious. The Love Mom Berry Much Cake is a tall chiffon cake enveloped with a delicious fresh cream and topped with fresh berries. It serves more than 10 people.
The Happy Mother’s Day Cake is about half the height of the chiffon cake, but the flavor is all there. It’s a layer of sponge cake, yogurt cream and topped with fresh fruit.
Along with the two special Mother’s Day cakes, Paris Baguette is offering “Berry Bunch” treats through May 31st. All these treats celebrate spring and all the berries currently in season, including:
- Very Berry Tarte
- Matcha and Berry Choux
- Strawberry Bomb Donut
- Berry Almond Cream Bun
- Raspberry Chocolate Pastry
I absolutely LOVED the donut and the cream bun. The donut was super strawberry-ish and the Berry Almond Cream Bun has a thin layer of cream woven inside that made it so that the bread was a perfect balance of crispy and dense.
The other treats were pretty delicious too though! The Raspberry Chocolate Pastry had a rich chocolate topping that reminded me of dark chocolate, while the Matcha and Berry Choux was a lighter touch.
The Very Berry Tarte? Yes, get it. It’s so berry heavy, fresh and the pastry is spot on. This would make such a great picnic food too!
Paris Baguette is a great spot to pick up Mother’s Day treats because of it’s many convenient locations, great prices, yummy drinks and the treats are so good. Oh, and not everything is sweet. They also offer lunch offerings like pre-made sandwiches and wraps, great overnight oats for breakfast and the coffee is stupendous. Definitely worth a visit.
