The fall season is here and there’s no better way to kick off the season than by attending a pumpkin patch with the family. The 10th annual Pumpkin Patch at Irvine Park Railroad offers so many fun activities for the entire family that you will not want to miss it.
The pumpkin patch is located inside Irvine Park and there is no entrance fee to attend. You only have to pay $5 for parking. The fee for the activities costs $5 a ticket, however not all activities have a cost. If you are on a budget, you can still enjoy the pumpkin patch. There are also plenty of opportunities for pictures as there are several pumpkins scattered throughout the park. You can also purchase pumpkins and they vary in size and price.
Our family outing to the pumpkin patch lasted about four hours and we were able to complete most of the activities with 12 tickets, which runs at a cost of $60. You can save some money and purchase 15 tickets for the price of $60 (a $15 savings). If you have a family of four, then I would recommend you purchase the 15 tickets. We were able to enjoy the train ride, the hay ride, 2 carnival games, cookie decorating, and the haunted maze and straw maze. The activities we missed were the moon bounce, John Deere racers, panning for gold and face painting. As you can see, there is plenty to do and you may have to make two trips to complete all the activities.
Our favorite activities were the train ride and the cookie decorating. The train ride was interesting because the girls had a chance to look at peacocks, the lake, the oldest tree in the park and the entire pumpkin patch. They loved it! The cookie decorating was fun because we participated as a family and it was very interactive. The sugar cookies were delicious and the staff was so helpful with the girls.
The girls also enjoyed eating regular popcorn, caramel popcorn and cotton candy. My fave was the caramel popcorn. On our way out, we noticed that there was bread for sale at the entrance/exit booth and we purchased some pumpkin bread. Turns out, the bread is made fresh daily! They offer pumpkin bread, banana nut bread and cinnamon pull apart bread. They cost $5 each and they taste great.
I would recommend that you plan to attend the pumpkin patch at least twice. There is just so much to do in one day. The Pumpkin Patch at Irvine Park Railroad is open weekdays from 10AM-5PM and weekends from 10AM-6PM and runs from September 19-October 31. It is located at 1 Irvine Park Road, Orange, CA 92869.
