We were so happy when SeaWorld San Diego invited us to check out the new SeaWorld attractions because it’s been about 9 years since we’ve visited the park. We had a completely different experience this time around because there is SO much to do!!! We made it out to the park with our five kids in ages ranging from 11 to two years old. It was a great experience and everyone had a blast. Definitely we want to go back since we didn’t get to see everything.
Let’s start with the newest realm-Ocean Explorer. Ocean Explorer has five new rides and a aquarium explorer exhibit. All my kiddos loved the four new rides that are meant for younger kids. I loved how the rides were good even for my two year old and I could accompany him. We were not able to ride Submarine Quest since it was closed that day, another reason to go back. The explorer exhibit is a blast. It’s aquarium combined with an interactive experience. The exhibit has tunnels that kids can crawl into and be part of the aquarium. The large glass dome inside the octopus exhibit is amazing for pictures. We spent a good time at Ocean Explorer and even came back for more later in the evening.
Now onto the food… it was really good!!! We decided to purchase the All-Day Dinning Deal. It made it easier for us to enjoy the park. Usually we pack tons of snacks, drinks and lunch for kids. It is such a hassle to carry all that food in stroller. The Dinning Deal made sense for us and was a huge hit. It includes five different restaurants through out the park, each with a different menu. You get to choose an entree, 1 side or dessert and 1 non-alcoholic drink. The entree is a great size and the options for dessert are plenty. We had barbeque ribs, chicken, chile verde pork fries, pizza, and fish tacos. The kid’s meals are a bit more limited with most places offering macaroni and cheese, chicken tenders and pizza. The adult price is $35.99 and kids $18.99, and you can get food once every hour. It might seem like a big expense but it was so worth it for us.
Now that it’s summer, the park has extended it’s hours which means more time to have fun. Electric Ocean is a party inside the park every night starting at 7pm. Club Current is a great spot to hang out and let the kids get their dancing groove on. The Glow in the dark atmosphere is a blast and they offer light-up merchandise to keep the party going. All around the park there are light up sea creatures and glow in the dark features. Atlantis and Manta get a make over once night falls making these two thrilling rides even better. The best show at night is Cirque Electrique. A show over the waters of Mission Bay which is filled with show stopping acrobatics done to upbeat music. The kids loved the water jet show which had us all mesmerized. Cirque Electrique is a must on your next visit and arrive early since it gets packed very soon.
SeaWorld San Diego has had some great additions and renovations, making it a must visit. They have three rides that are great for teens and adults. My 11 year old couldn’t get enough of Manta, a fast paced roller coaster. Atlantis and Shipwreck Rapids are both great for those wanting to beat the heat. I love the themed rides for the entire family offering more than just shows and exhibits. The shows are funny and entertaining!
We loved Dolphin Days and couldn’t stop laughing at Sea Lions Live. Even after a full day at SeaWorld San Diego we didn’t get to see it all. A return visit is a must and with all the SeaWorld San Diego discounts online it will be much easier. They are offering a Buy A Day come back the rest of the year deal. Burger King is also offering a coupon for a discounted one day ticket. SeaWorld San Diego is much more than we expected and we had a great time
